To no one’s dismay, we had another great time this week on the Stephens’ Music Company Northwest Georgia Music Hour. Ever since we first met Codey Bearden, he’s been going at it full speed. His band, Codey Bearden’s Tiny Kitchen, will release a new album in August, followed by a promotional tour. We enjoyed catching up with him and sampling some new material.
We also had Clay Broome and Steve Stuart stop by. In February, Billy Moehler (Booze Mountaineers) and his family lost their home to an electrical fire. In order to help out the Moehler family, Clay has organized an outstanding day of music for this Saturday in the Schroeder’s Courtyard. Moehler Fest begins at 2pm and ends at 11, and features Atomic Boogie, Jeff Rogers Band, Bennie Gray & The Trailer Park Cowboys, Drop Dead Nasty, Clay Broome Band, Scott Warren & Friends, The Network, Muletide Perkins Quartet, and Thunderbolt Patterson. This will be an unforgettable event in the courtyard and is only $5 to enter. That’s rad! Also, Sonny the cat managed to negotiate a deal that we’re still not quite sure about.
And, we got to listen to lots of great new music! Here’s what we heard.
Dooey – No Home
Shane West – One Big Heart
Pierce Pettis – My Life of Crime
Clay Broome – Umbrella Eyes (live)
Codey Bearden’s Tiny Kitchen – I Can’t Sleep
Codey Bearden – Run No More (live)
Codey Bearden’s Tiny Kitchen – Tonight
Codey Bearden’s Tiny Kitchen – What I Want
