One thing that we’ve become quite aware of at The Northwest Georgia Music Hour is that theater people make fantastic guests. That’s why we were tickled pink to be joined by cast members from the upcoming Rome Little Theatre production, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. The show runs this weekend and next at the Historic DeSoto Theater. We enjoyed visiting with director Wendell Barnes, Colt Chambers (Charlie Brown), Emily Tumlin (Snoopy), Daniel George (Linus), and Justin Karch (Schroeder). L-R: Steve Stewart, Mullins, Clay Broome (pic by Stu. Thanks!)

It’s no secret that Clay Broome is one of our favorites at The Northwest Georgia Music Hour. That’s why we were pleased as punch to have him join us on the air as our first musical guest of 2017! We enjoyed hanging out, listening to live performances, and sharing a brand new recording (of a not so new song). It was also great to see drummer Steve Stewart.

We also mentioned that there is a gofundme page out there that is raising money to help out our good buddy, Gary Greene. CLICK HERE to visit that link and show some love to the Grand Imagineer. Here’s what we heard.

The Groundhawgs – Rabbit Song
Gazebo – Regurgitation

January 11, 2017

best-of-2016-volume-two-compendium_edited-1

That’s right! There was no chance of fitting the best of 2016’s live radio performances into one episode. So this week on The Northwest Georgia Music Hour we reflected again on how grand of a year 2016 was for local and regional music. We did stray from the course for a moment though as we celebrated the birthday of our good buddy Jeremy Ollis (The Donors, Tina & The Goose). Here’s what we heard!

Best of 2016 Live at The Ridge!

January 5, 2017

best-of-2016-volume-one-compendium_web

2016 was indeed a lot of things to a lot of people. In regards to The Northwest Georgia Music Hour, it was a phenomenal year for live studio performances. We had great guests all year long and thirty-three of them performed live on the air. In reviewing these performances, it became quite clear that we could not fit all of our favorites in to one show. Therefore, Stu and I decided to just go ahead and dive in. We’ll see how long this takes. Here’s what we heard on “Best of 2016 (volume one)”.

Tina & The Goose – Goose Walk
Baylee Conger – They Don’t Understand*
Clay Broome – Umbrella Eyes*
Cornbread Killers – Monte Carlo*
Ellie Lawrence – DNA*
Jason L. Smith – Pure Imagination*
Jule Medders – The Road From This House*
Tina & The Goose – Treetops/Spiral*

*recorded live at 95.7 The Ridge.
