Cornbread Killers Compendium

We had an exciting time this week on the Stephens’ Music Company Northwest Georgia Music Hour as we were joined by Cornbread Killers! Jeff Caldwell, Shane West, and Jeff Bridges are a super fun trio of extremely skilled musicians with an arsenal of originals and covers that lasts for days. This Friday at Dark Side of the Moon the Cornbread Killers will celebrate the release of their brand new CD, Recipe For Disaster. The disc is great and you can’t go wrong with a Cornbread Killers show so go ahead and mark it on your calendar. Here’s what we heard.

Kamikaze Dali – We Are The People
Whiskey Dixie – Woman of Mine
Little Country Giants – Morning Time
Clay Broome – Bullet In My Head
Cornbread Killers – Rocket Ship
Cornbread Killers – Monte Carlo (live)
Cornbread Killers – Everything I Say (live)
Cornbread Killers – The Cost

Spreading the Love with After You

April 20, 2016
After You Compendium

Jeremy Harrison, Clint Dillard, Jessie Reed, Mullins (pic by Stu. Thanks!)

Word has it that there are some haters coming to Rome this weekend. That’s unfortunate, but I knew that a good bud, Jessie Reed, along with many others, have been instrumental in trying to make the best of the situation. So, many weeks ago we scheduled her to visit the Northwest Georgia Music Hour on the Wednesday before so we could get the lowdown on what all has unfolded in the preparations. Although I’m not surprised, I’m very excited about all the local musicians who have offered their talents to the effort of shining a positive light on the day. And to top it all off, Jessie has been working on a new project with Clint Dillard and Jeremy Harrison. The group is called After You and they debuted their recent efforts live at the 95.7 The Ridge studio today for the Stephens’ Music Company Northwest Georgia Music Hour. It was great! Here’s what we heard.

Husky Burnette – Beat & Lowdown
Julia Barnes – We’re Gonna Make It
Bennie Gray & The Trailer Park Cowboys – Restless
Jerry On The Moon – Fight No More
After You – Rows of Daisies (live)
After You – Pinstriped Faery Queen (live)
After You – Rise Above (live)
After You – It’s All About Love (live)

A Visit with Patty Bell

April 13, 2016
PattyBellCompendium

Patty and Mullins (photo by Stu. Thanks!)

Today on the Stephens’ Music Company Northwest Georgia Music Hour we were joined by Patty A. Bell and we had a blast! Not only is Patty a Cartersville-based singer/songwriter with a debut EP on the way, she also fosters the music scene there with her Etowah Valley Music Project website and facebook page. It’s safe to say that everyone at the 95.7 The Ridge studio today could agree on the value of a rich community of local musicians, even Sonny the cat, who made another guitar carrying friend today. Here’s what we heard.

AJ Ghent Band – Dancin’
AJ Ghent Band – Can’t Be Your Dog
South of Heaven – Headroom
Patty Bell – Cross Sides (live)
Patty Bell – Sky Blues
Patty Bell – Train (live)
David Bell & The Beauticians – The Next Disaster
Arlo Finch – Shackles & Chains
The Vaudevillains – Walkin’ Out
